The pandemic has exposed inequities and widened the gaps in many ways. Gender inequity is no exception. It has been broadly reported that the pandemic has disproportionately impacted working women, resulting in an alarming reversal of gains made in recent years. One study in 2021 found that 64% of college-educated mothers had reduced their working hours, compared with 36% of college-educated fathers. Also children spent more than twice as much time with telecommuting moms than dads.

This is why we are launching theWomen & Allies Seriesin March 2022, the International Women’s Month. The series is dedicated to helping women voice their concerns and needs in the workplace and empowering their allies with ideas and tools to address them. To try and bring the most value we are starting with global perspectives, since this issue has been experienced to varying degrees around the world. We are delighted to bring the first in the series to you directly from Paris, France, where we believe there are lessons to be learned for all of us.
