Diversity without Inclusion

Many organizations are disappointed after they have worked hard on building a more diverse workforce, only to experience retention and engagement issues. The fact is, diversity does not automatically lead to more inclusion and is certainly not sustainable without inclusion. So it’s best to make inclusion the priority to achieve benefits like attracting and retaining talent of diverse backgrounds.

As our guest, Dr. Ed Hasan, CEO of Kaizen Human Capital, Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University, and subject matter expert for SHRM, will explain in this webinar, Diversity is a sprint and inclusion is a marathon. We can hire a diverse workforce quickly, but creating an inclusive work environment takes time, patience, and empathy. This is a subject that he also covers in his upcoming book entitled Embracing Workplace Religious Diversity and Inclusion: Key Challenges and Solutions, which will be published internationally in early 2022. This is why Ed refers to his area of expertise as IDE, with “I” for “Inclusion” before Diversity and Equity!
